Why Efficiency

The upgrade that pays you back every month.

In a Carolina summer, an old window is a heat funnel — the sun pours in and your AC fights it all day. In winter, that same window leaks the warmth you’re paying for. Energy-efficient windows break that cycle with three layers of technology: multiple panes with insulating argon gas sealed between them, a nearly invisible Low-E coating that reflects heat, and a tightly sealed, insulated frame.

The payoff shows up on your utility bill and in how the house feels — no more hot rooms on the sunny side, no more cold draft by the sofa, and noticeably less outside noise. Efficient glass also blocks much of the UV that fades floors, rugs, and furniture over time.

We help you read the ratings that matter — ENERGY STAR, U-factor, and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient — and match the right glass package to your home and budget. Then we install it sealed and insulated, because even the best window underperforms if it’s put in with gaps.

Why Homeowners Choose It

What efficient windows give you

Lower heating & cooling bills

Insulating glass and tight seals ease the load on your HVAC in both the summer heat and winter cold.

Even, comfortable rooms

No more hot spots on the sunny side or cold drafts by the windows — the whole house feels more balanced.

Quieter interiors

Multi-pane, gas-filled glass dampens outside noise from traffic, mowers, and the neighborhood.

Less fading

Low-E coatings block much of the UV that fades hardwood floors, rugs, and furniture over the years.

ENERGY STAR performance

We spec to the ratings that matter for our climate so you get real, verifiable efficiency — not marketing.

Comfort that lasts

Quality sealed units hold their performance for years, unlike old windows that fail and fog between panes.

How It's Installed

Five steps, and none of them get skipped.

Fast doesn’t mean rushed. Every step below exists because skipping it is what turns a 30-year exterior into one that leaks, rots, or fails in a couple of seasons.

  1. In-home measure & itemized quote

We walk the home, measure every opening and elevation, and help you choose the right material and color. You get a clear, itemized price before any work begins.

  2. Tear-off & inspection

Old siding or windows come off, and we inspect the sheathing and framing underneath — this is where hidden rot, water damage, and missing house wrap turn up.

  3. Repair & weatherproofing

Rotted sheathing is replaced, then house wrap and flashing go on around every window, door, and seam. This unseen layer is what actually keeps water out for decades.

  4. Precise installation

Siding, windows, and trim are installed level, plumb, and properly fastened with the right expansion allowance — sealed and finished so it performs, not just looks good.

  5. Clean-up & walkthrough

We run a magnet for stray nails, haul off all debris, and walk the finished job with you. The home is left weathertight and tidy at the end of every day.

Efficiency FAQ

Common energy-efficient window questions

What actually makes a window energy-efficient?

Three things working together: multiple panes of glass (double or triple) with insulating gas — usually argon — sealed between them; a Low-E (low-emissivity) coating that reflects heat while letting light through; and a well-insulated, tightly sealed frame. Look for the ENERGY STAR label and the NFRC ratings (U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) — lower numbers generally mean better performance in our climate.

How much can energy-efficient windows lower my bills?

It depends on what you're replacing. Swapping old single-pane or failed double-pane windows for modern Low-E units can meaningfully cut heating and cooling costs, because those old windows leak conditioned air and let the sun cook your rooms. The savings build month over month and are only part of the benefit — comfort, fewer drafts, and less fading of floors and furniture come with it.

Double-pane or triple-pane — which do I need in North Carolina?

For most Holly Springs homes, quality double-pane Low-E windows hit the best balance of efficiency and value. Triple-pane adds another layer of insulation and sound-dampening and can be worth it for very noisy locations or homeowners chasing maximum efficiency, but it costs more and the added savings are smaller in our moderate climate. We'll help you weigh it for your home.

Do Low-E coatings make the windows look tinted or dark?

No — modern Low-E coatings are virtually invisible. They're microscopically thin and designed to let visible light through while reflecting infrared heat, so your rooms stay bright and clear. You get the energy performance without a dark or mirrored look.
